Today marks the 45th anniversary of the passing of Today marks the 45th anniversary of the passing of Ian Curtis, the unforgettable voice and lyricist of Joy Division. Curtis played a key role in my graphic biography #TalesofTheSmiths, where I revealed a little-known chapter: his brief but genuine friendship with Morrissey, sparked after they both attended the infamous Sex Pistols gig at the Lesser Trade Hall in Manchester in 1976, which a handful of people witnessed and then formed a series of legendary bands.
