BIG FISH magazine #149 (28 September 2008)
A commissioned 4-page graphic journalism short story about the Greek Communist Party’s (KKE) annual festival.
BIG FISH was a magazine offered as a weekly supplement in the Sunday edition of the Greek newspaper Proto Thema (Πρώτο Θέμα).

Throwback to a graphic journalism short story that was published in BIG FISH magazine in September 2008. I was commissioned by the magazine’s editor to cover the Communist Party of Greece’s (KKE) annual festival and report back in the form of a graphic journalism piece, in the tradition of Joe Sacco. In that particular year, the country’s Communist Party was celebrating its 90th anniversary since it was founded.

The illustrated article turned into a graphic journalism short story that blended my ongoing practice: autography, cultural memory, and sociopolitical tensions.
